My journey with photography began more than fifty years ago when I built my first pinhole camera from a cereal box and black electrical tape as part of an elementary school science project. In addition to learning, I also learned how to develop photographs in the school darkroom. After all these years, I can still recall the images coming to life in the developer tank of my first photos. My passion for the arts has grown over the years. Sometimes I’ll pick up a pencil and etch out a drawing or sketch, but the camera has always been my favorite way to create art.
My specialty is landscape and wildlife photography, but I enjoy street and architectural photography as well. I love traveling, hiking, and exploring our beautiful world. Each photograph I create is the result of careful preparation and consideration for lighting, composition, and exposure. When I bring the photos home to my digital darkroom, I spend a little time making color and enhancements, but editing is minimized to give each photograph a natural look and feel.
For me, photography is much more than creating a beautiful image. It’s about exploring and connecting the beautiful world around us. Whether I’m hiking in Yellowstone or walking around downtown my hometown of Fort Worth, I love connecting with our world with my camera.
